I have a 1Gb CF card partitioned as 2 400 mb sections. One as FAT32 and the other as Ext2 With Puppy 4.0 in the Ext2 partition. The initial reason for the experiment was simply as learning on the fly so to speak. The happy discovery was that my IBM T42 would let me set that CF in a PCMCIA adapter as a boot selectable device. Which upon a failure of installing Ubuntu to a spare drive- defaulted to boot from the CF resident Puppy install... Hmn? Perhaps this is a good addition to my library of "Graceful Degradation as opposed to failure" tricks.
